Sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and through no fault of her own, sweet Poppy recently returned to our care after her adoptive family fell on hard times. Originally rescued as a puppy from Northern Ontario in late 2023, Poppy is now 2.5 years old and looking for a new forever home.

 

Poppy is a petite, smaller shepherd mix weighing in at a perfect, full-grown 40 lbs. She is an absolute sweetheart, gentle, kind, deeply affectionate, and wonderfully social with everyone she meets. Inside the home, she is a total lovebug who wants nothing more than to curl up on the couch next to you or snuggle in bed at night.

 

While she loves her couch time, Poppy definitely has a fun, playful side! She gets joyful zoomies off leash, so a home with a yard where she can stretch her legs and play would be a dream come true for her. She is great with kids, loves people, and gets along great with other dogs. While she could happily be a solo dog, she really loves the company of other pups and would be thrilled to have a playful dog sibling!

 

Poppy is fully house trained, travels well in the car and walks very well on a leash with a gentle leader.

 

Poppy is spayed, microchipped, and completely up to date on all her vaccines and preventatives. Her accuplex test was negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases.
