Lucy

Lucy is a 2 year old female who came to us from a First Nations community in Northern Ontario called Wabakeka. She weighs approximately 35 lbs and is fully grown.

 

Lucy is the mother to Luna and Zeus, who many of you have seen posted recently. She was an attentive and dedicated mom, and now it’s her turn to find a home of her own.

 

Lucy is a friendly, affectionate dog who enjoys being around her people. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up well and forms strong bonds. Once comfortable, she is a very loving and loyal companion.

She is described by her foster as the “whole package” - sweet, gentle, and medium energy. Lucy enjoys nature walks, exploring trails, and doesn’t mind getting into the water along the way. After walks, she often gets playful bursts of energy and will happily settle back down afterward. Lucy has a playful and silly side. She’s known for her expressive ears that perk straight up when she’s excited, and she often relaxes stretched out on the floor in her own unique “plank” position.

She enjoys chewing on her Nylabone, bully sticks, and loves her treats.

She is: Spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, house trained

and crate trained (and uses her crate comfortably on her own)

 

Lucy does well with other dogs of various sizes and would be happy either as an only dog or with a compatible companion. She is great with children. She has shown a bit too much interest in cats, so a home without cats would be preferred.

Lucy is good on leash and comfortable in a harness, however she can be a bit hesitant with the leash when first getting to know new people. Because of this, we are looking for a home with a secure fenced yard to help her feel comfortable as she continues to build confidence.

 

She is also great in the car, enjoys going for rides, and will happily greet you at the door when you come home from work.

Lucy would do best in a home where someone is home more often than not, as she enjoys companionship and being part of the household. Lucy is a happy, affectionate dog who has adjusted well in foster care and is ready to find a family of her own.
