Trixie

Trixie is a sweet 7 year old, 8lb Chihuahua who came into our care after her owner, facing homelessness, could no longer care for her. Despite everything she's been through, Trixie’s heart is as gentle and loving as ever.

When Trixie arrived, we noticed she had micropthalmia, a condition where one eye was underdeveloped and causing her discomfort. To give her the best quality of life, we had the eye safely removed, along with completing her spay, dental work, and updating all her vetting. Trixie is now feeling so much better and is ready for her next chapter!

While in foster care, we noticed that Trixie occasionally experiences stress induced seizures, especially when the environment is busy or chaotic with lots of other animals. She’s now on medication that is helping to control them, but it’s clear that what Trixie truly needs is a calm, peaceful home where she can relax and thrive.

We are currently seeking a home for Trixie where she can be the only dog. She has previously was fostered with 2 cats without any issues, so a friendly cat would be totally fine.

​

Trixie’s ideal home would be:

Quiet and low-traffic

Without young children or plans for lots of other pets

Solo dog, cats are ok!

** Please note that her seizure medication is only $35 a month and she takes it easily by mouth, twice a day. Routine bloodwork twice a year is recommended to check her levels. This is ~ $175 **
